Get a Running Start at Highline College

The Running Start program allows qualified high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to enroll in college-level classes (100 level or above) that, with careful planning, apply to both their high school graduation and university transfer or professional technical degree. The grades and credits earned through Running Start are part of student's permanent college and high school transcripts.

Five college credits are equivalent to one high school credit.

Running Start is available fall, winter and spring quarters. Students may enroll simultaneously in high school and college classes, or solely in college classes. College tuition for eligible classes is covered through Running Start. The maximum credit eligibility is based on students combined high school and college enrollment. See the Running Start Enrollment Verification Form. Students are responsible for books and applicable fees.

Completed fall quarter Running Start application materials are being accepted now for new students.
